Hi, yes toe walking is very common- as far as i know it is not thought to cause problems .why does he need to be made to stop ? who is it bothering? The only way to stop a comforting behaviour is to try and replace it. You would have to see if there are triggers - does he do it all the time or only at stressful times. Is this person non verbal ? Another option to query is , is he constipated? I know that sounds really weird but several friends have observed that their autistic children toe walk when they are constipated ( yes i KNOW it sounds odd LOL !! - but you never know !!)
