Hi Jules, you know your child best . Do you think the help they are offering will meet his needs? If you don't then don't accept the statement and appeal. I personally don't think the diagnosis is the issue- it dosen't matter really what the name of his difficulties are - if they exist then they have to be addressed. Contact yout lea parents support group and maybe think about getting him assessed independently. It will cost you some money but if it means it gets what he needs.... Any report you have done would have to be considered at appeal. You can find Ed psychs in the yellow pages or post on the net for a recomendation. I know a good one that will do home visits in the south of england. If you want it just post your e-mail address. Regards
