      Hi all.

I am new to this forum and new to Autism in general. My 4 year old son was recently diagnosed as ASD so its been a bit of an intense few months. My son has delayed speech and has started weekly speech therapy at his school paid privately by us. My son can speak and is able use any word but struggles with conversation and cannot initiate or respond to other kids in his class. He also has echolalia. I find this quite hard to cope with when I see all of the other kids in his class play together and wonder if he will ever be able to socialise like the other kids. I would love to make contact with parents in a similar situation and wondered if you have seen an improvement in your child’s social interaction as they got older? Its such a shame to see a happy little boy struggle so much, we just want to help him as much as we can…

      Thanks,
